Time to sow good stuff. The world around you might be barren, even hostile. But find good soil, find a safe haven and sow good things. Smile and greet the people you meet everyday: coworkers, family, friends, relatives and acquaintances. Joy is very much needed. No need to overdo it, just do the natural thing. Remember that receptionist who joyfully welcomes you to an establishment? Or the girl who answers the phone joyfully, and even greets you by name? They are spreading joy. Give them back that joy by smiling and wishing them a good day.
Sow kindness. Just a little gentleness goes a long way. See someone who has made a mistake? If you're the one in charge of correcting them, talk to them kindly and train them to do the right thing next time. What if they respond in anger? This will be hard, but keep your cool, you are sowing peace and calmness, and showing a better way, and being a good example. Hopefully the person will learn and be an even better teammate in the future.
See someone in trouble? It may be inconvenient, we are busy, but it is worth it to stop and ask if the person is ok, if he/she needs help, if there's anything within your capability to assist. When hiking or skiing in the mountains, it is common practice for someone to ask you how you are when you are stopped or have stumbled at a certain place. Sometimes we don't take the time to ask how somebody is after they fall, or someone lying on the sidewalk when there are lots of people going by. You can be the difference in the crowd.
Remember the Lord our God is the true master, and sees all we do, and rewards those who keep on doing good regardless of the circumstances.
